THE HISTORY OF HOME CRAFT
Agricultural Fairs have always provided an opportunity to show off "domestic manufacturing". In the early days a farmer's wife had to make everything she needed, from spinning yarn and weaving blankets to churning butter and canning fruit. The lost popular activity was quilting, an activity that united community women and provided warm covers. In the early fairs as many as fifty or more quilts might be displayed as entries. Our categories today include quilts, knitting, sewing and crocheting. We hold competitions for everything from canning and baking to flowers and vegetables. For category information see below.
SHOW OFF YOUR HOME CRAFT TALENT AT THE FAIR
Anyone, of any age, can enter an exhibit in the Fair. There are themes, rules and guidelines for each category in both the Home Craft and Junior Fair Divisions. Enter your most beautiful flowers, healthy vegetables, delicious baked goods, yummy canning, detailed needlecraft and dramatic photography. For category information and forms see below.
