RULES
Please read all rules carefully to avoid disqualification (also see general rules & regulations page)
No commercial mixes or fillings to be used.
Pies may be baked in any type of pie plate, minimum of 6 in. ( Please note that sponsors may not possibly return pie plates to the winning entrant)
Cakes and loaves to be shown on foil wrapped cardboard.
All other entries to be shown on disposable plates.
A layer cake by definition is two separate cakes (either round or square) that are layered on top of each other by filling.
All exhibits to be in clear plastic bags,when possible with entry tags securely fastened to the back of the bag. No plastic wrap  Dome containers for layer cakes etc.,may be purchased from bake shops.

Hint: Temper foil plates pie plates at 400 for 20 minutes before using.

O.A.A.S Rules Sponsored by the Port Perry Agricultural Society

  1. Entry must be made solely by the person entering the competition (including pastry)
  2. A total of 6 tarts, are to be displayed on a clean paper plate, inside a clear plastic bag.
  3. District/Provincial Competition Rules must be posted in the prize book of each local Fair/Exhibition
  4. The size of the tarts must be full size tarts. (No mini or bite size tarts) and must not contain fruits or nuts (ie. no raisins, no pecans)

District/Provincial Competition Rules

District Competition

  1. A total of 6 tarts will be required to be shown. Tarts must be on a clean, sturdy plate (no paper plates) inside of a clear plastic bag with the exhibitor’s name, mailing address and fair represented.
  2. The size of the tarts must be full size tarts. (no mini or bite size tarts) and must not contain fruit or nuts (ie. no raisins, no pecans)
  3. If the exhibitor has won at more than one fair, the one closest to the exhibitor’s home address is the agricultural society from which the entry will be sent to the district competition. The other agricultural societies may send their second place winner into the district competition. An exhibitor may only enter into one district competition.

 Provincial Competition

  1. A total of 6 tarts will be required to be shown. Tarts must be on a clean, sturdy plate (no paper plates) inside of a clear plastic bag with the exhibitor’s name, mailing address and district represented.
  2. The size of the tarts must be full size tarts. (no mini or bite size tarts) and must not contain fruit or nuts (ie. no raisins, no pecans).
  3. 1st and 2nd place entries will not be returned to exhibitor but will be placed up for auction at the convention.
