RULES AND REGULATIONS

PRIZE MONEY: (For Sections 21.1 – 21.37), except Specials and Community Service Project

1st $12,  2nd $8,  3rd $5

  1. Article of needle felting.
  2. Article of cross stitch, stamped kits allowed, floss/yarn sample attached. 
  3. Article of Macramé, cord sample attached. 
  4. Personal electronic cover or case (such as an e-reader), made from any or multiple medium(s).
  5. Four (4) coaters, any medium. 
  6. Any craft using buttons
  7. Article of handmade jewelry. Sponsored by: Brittany Lepka at All My Love Collection.
  8. Article made from up-cycled materials. 
  9. Gift in a jar. 
  10. Child-safe toy, any medium.
  11. Center piece, themed: Celebrating Canada”. Tip: center pieces are viewed from all sides.

  13. Exterior door decoration, swag or wreath.  
  14. Bird house or bird feeder.

  17. Water colour painting, maximum 24″ x 39″. Painting must be framed and ready for hanging (no sawtooth hangers), and signature covered. 
  18. Oil or acrylic painting, maximum 24″ x 36″. Painting must be framed and ready for hanging (no sawtooth hangers), and signature covered. 
  19. Pencil or charcoal sketch, maximum 24″ x 36″. Sketch must be framed and ready for hanging (no sawtooth hangers), and signature covered. 
  20. Metal article, maximum 30″ in any direction.  
  21. Carved wooden animal.   
  22. Any other carved wood item.  
  23. Handmade charcuterie or cutting board. 
  24. Christmas tree ornament, ready for hanging.  
  25. Christmas tree topper or angel.  
  26. Christmas stocking.  
  27. Any article of Lego, not from a kit, maximum 20” in any direction.  
  28. The procrastination craft/hobby -a craft or hobby that is 90-95% completed, with a short explanation as to why the item was not finished in time for the fair. 
  29. The Next Big Craft Item – Have a craft or hobby not being featured in a section at the fair? This is the section for you! Enter your craft or hobby here, the winning entry will become a section for next year. (Check out #30 and #31, they are the winners from 2023 and 2024). 
  30. Wooden decorative item, any holiday. (This was the Next Big Craft winner from 2024).  
  31. Decorative item using pressed flowers. (This was the Next Big Craft winner from 2023). 
  32. Any knit or crochet project making creative use of leftover yarn, minimum 3 colours. Yarn sample attached. 
  33. Article made using a combination of needlework techniques (knitting, crochet, sewing, embroidery etc.). Floss/yarn sample attached. 
  34. Total Fail – submit a craft you tried that just did not turn out. Include a picture of what it was supposed to look like. 
  35. SPECIAL: Article made at the Scugog Memorial Library Makers Space. PRIZE:$10 gift certificate for the Scugog Memorial Library’s Makerspace. Sponsored by: Scugog Memorial Library  
  36. COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT: Gift basket, with a minimum of 5 different nonperishable food items, with a printed recipe using these items.  

    PRIZE: 1st $15, 2nd $10, 3rd $8Sponsored by: TBD 

    NOTE: The community service projects entries will not be returned to exhibitors. After judging, it becomes property of the Port Perry Agriculture Society and will be donated to Operation Scugog (Food Bank). Entry fee will be waved if this is your only entry.
